Mo Kerr’s working life began as a casting and post-production assistant on films such as The Dirty Dozen, the TV series, The Avengers, and several Royal Variety Performances.  After the birth of her two daughters, Mo pursued a career in public sector housing and later, as a consultant, led task force teams on homeless and rent arrears projects in London.

As well as having short stories and poems published in literary magazines or placed or shortlisted in writing competitions such as Writing Magazine and The Fiction Desk, Mo has performed at a number of events, including The Lighter Side, at the Quarry Theatre, Bedford, International Women’s Day and National Poetry Days.  One of her poems, Highland Fling, was set to music and performed as part of a Heritage Fund Lottery event organised by the University of Bedfordshire.  A co-founder of Bedford International Writing Competition, Mo has undertaken the marketing and organising of events for the past four years.

Work on a suspenseful gothic novel,  Unhallowed Ground, is in progress as is collaboration with illustrator, Nora Haikala, on a children’s picture book featuring Grandma Mo and a cat called Siamese Joe. Mo and Nora are giving a series of readings to children at libraries and bookshops.

The Lost – Thirteen Dark Tales – is Mo’s first anthology of short stories.  All proceeds will be donated to Just Be A Child, a charity that creates libraries out of shipping containers for children Kenya.
